The International Conference of Precision Health and Precision Nutrition

With the rapid nutrition and lifestyle transition in the past few decades, the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers, as well as NCDs related premature death have been increasing dramatically worldwide including in China. Unlike the concept of “Precision Medicine” which is more focused on disease treatment with drugs, “Precision Health” and “Precision Nutrition” are emphasizing prevention with more targeted diet and lifestyle modifications on stratified populations/individuals by applying a holistic approach integrating traditional methods with advanced omics and other new technologies. Ultimately, more effective strategies will be developed to improve human health and quality of life.
The International Conference of Precision Health and Precision Nutrition will take place in Shanghai, China on November 6 and 7, 2017 .
This conference is co-organized by the Basic Nutrition Research Branch of Chinese Nutrition Society, the Key Laboratory of Nutrition and Metabolism, as well as Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and is sponsored by By-Health Co., Ltd.
The program will focus on :
(1) Big cohorts, big data, and precision health;
(2) Systematic epidemiology approaches to metabolic health;
(3) Personalized nutrition for disease prevention;
(4) Advanced technologies for omics platforms;
(5) Novel method of bioinformatics;
(6) Translation of nutrition research into practice and policies.
Approximately 30 world renowned experts from University of Oxford, Harvard University and Cornell University, as well as from Chinese Academy of Sciences and other world-class research institutions in fields of epidemiology, nutritional sciences, omics and bioinformatics will present cutting-edge knowledge and state-of-art translational technologies involving in precision health and nutrition. A number of world renowned corporations will also introduce their research and strategic plans on translation and application for precision health and precision nutrition.
